Below you will find various artists that are supported by Explosion
Productions. All of the individuals and artists featured by Explosion
Productions are friends... no, they are family! Each person involved
is committed to spreading a message that matters as much as the air
that they breathe. If you pay close attention to the artists lyrics
you will find why they compose the music that they do. Each artist
represented here is concerned about people, and how we hold ourselves
in a world that often does not make any sense at all. Threaded into their music
you will find a message of hope, truth, with
sparks of life that seem to jump out of the cd player as you listen.
These artists all want to make a difference through more then just
the music they play, they want to let their music sing through their
lives. Every melody and note that you hear these artist compose comes
from a deep desire to make a positive difference in this world.

Jonathan Stowers
"Soft and swelling in his introduction, he sounds more like family than fake. Singing of the wonders of everyday life and the complex beauty of relationships, no matter the status, Jonathan Stowers enters your hearing without the need for an invitation. His down-to-earth lyrics yet cosmic sounds create that long lost tune you’ve never heard. These humid sounds and rich aromas will take you somewhere new and bring you home." Jonathan writes, "I write songs about interactions with people and the way I see life. I play guitar and attempt to be a daydreamer and write. Live simply. Let others listen to you and love you. Listen to others and love them." Click here to listen to Jonathan Stowers music.

Synonyms For Silence
The opening chord was dark and drawn-out, setting up a haunting tone for the sophisticated blend of melodic post-punk that was to follow. Reverb-drenched guitar lines cascaded into brooding choruses before simmering back into the minor-chord murk. Fluid tempo changes added sophistication to the music, while lead vocals were delivered with liberal doses of cathartic release. Following in the steps of neoalternative groups including Los Gatos sensation Dredg, Synonyms for Silence displayed not only artistic potential but a viable attraction for contemporary rock fans. Saltwater Merchants
Writing songs is a trip! I am thrownback each time a new song arrives, like a surprise package in the mail.
Songwriting is a challenge that keeps me awake at night, longing for the expressions to take on form and melody.
I am honored to be a part of this whole thing. Me and the guys have been playing my words into song since college,
and have kept it up even since geographical separations have slowed us down. God only knows what happens when we
diverge even farther, though the song shall press on, haunting me in my sleep. Cradling us when all seems lost.
All is not lost, just the things we didn't need. -travis

Kokua
Kokua - Hawaiian word meaning "Help or Assist" Dave Matsumura has been leading worship
and performing in various bands for over 10 years. In the spring of '07 he took a position
leading worship for a season of Outdoor Education camp at Hume Lake. At camp the staff are
supposed to choose camp names so Dave chose the name, "Kokua." He really liked the idea that,
as a worship leader, he was there to "help or assist" you in connecting with God through
musical worship. This is where Kokua was born. Since then, by popular request Kokua has
made a self-titled album that contains many of the most popular worship songs performed
at Hume Lake. It is a project for the students. "I wanted to give them a cd that they
could take home and remember their camp/worship experience."

Jesse West
Music brings us together. It is the one language that breaks through indifference. I
went surfing the other day and was reminded of how much we need to pursue our dreams and
never stop striving for the things that keep us alive. Music does this for me. My songs
are sing-a-longs and written around a campfire near the ocean. These songs are intending
to capture the imagination... and hopefully take you to that place where laughter, friendship,
and memories still find resolve. I have been in every type of band imaginable and now I am
ready to let the music come out as it was intended to... with an acoustic guitar in my hand.
I have been known to write songs about the road, faith, surfing, california, and my beautiful
wife Amber. My new album is due to be released winter of 2008. As for right now the waves are
good and the forecast looks bright and sunny! Wanna surf?
